Growing up, Saturday mornings were for cleaning. Of course we cleaned during the week but Saturday was for really cleaning. No matter what, every Saturday, music and a mother already deep into cleaning woke us up.
 
This was always a group event and soon irriatation from being woken up early quickly became smiles as we cleaned and danced to the music. We knew we had completed the cleaning when a candle was lit. It was the signal that everything was done and the day could begin.
 
Looking back this was everything. It was a known thing and as we meet people from all different backgrounds, we learn that every walk of life had a cleaning day and it ended the same way. Lighting a candle.
